Winter arrived in the Birdmountains...

We celebrated the end of the competion and show season with the traditional horseback hunting.

Sternberg Salut leaded with the Master Sabine Müller the riders which decided not to jump in the second hunting field.

Cappry Sally jumped clear in the first hunting field, her rider was one of the pikeurs. In additional to that she was the fastest pony of the last canter, even faster then the warmbloods.

Because of this Laura Schlosser and Sally "hunted the fox" as the fastest ones.

july 2011 :

In 2012 we are expecting a very special foal: Chiara von Donaumoos (by Premiumstallion Leonardo I out of Calla Mary) is in foal by the well known Gentle Dancer (Coosheen Thyme out of Gentle Cloud by Village Boy). Gentle Dancer won and was placed in a lot irish and french shows; his offsprings are very succesful allover Europe. He is available in frozen semen.

After nearly one year waiting we are very happy about Birdmountain Calla Mia by swedish bred premiumstallion Ardas Murphy by Kulan Kavat out of Chiara vom Donaumoos - a strongboned, darkdun beauty.

Spring and Sternberg Souvenir by Elitestallion Skousboe Morning Rock (Hazy Dawn out of Frederiksminde Mellow) out of Sternberg Salut (Premiumstallion El Larry our of StPrSt Sternberg Snowfly by Skatholm Ladylover) arrived.

This big and very kind colt gives us a lot of joy.

Just in time for St. Patricksday Birdmountain Lyn by Coill Rua Champ (Gorteen Boy out of Aran Melissa by Ganty Champ) out of Lunasa (Dun Manus out of Maggie Og by Ashfield Jovial Joker) was born.

We are very pleased about a strongboned filly with a smashing head.

Cappry Sally and Laura proved that a Connemarapony is a perfect partner for hunting: Cappry Sally jumped clear in the first hunting field and was fast but calm enough to give her rider a lot of fun.

Welcome Sternberg Salut by Premiumstallion El Larry out of Statespremiummare Sternberg Snowfly. We are very happy that we had the opportunity to purchase this wonderful mare. She received many successes (Champion filly Fränk. Ponytag Ansbach, Champion of the mare performancetest 2009, Ansbach,Champion mare class (7 to 9 years), German Show 2010), is blessed with very good movement and is very friendly and calm. Fortunatly she is in foal to Skousboe Morning Rock (by Hazy Dawn out of Frederiksminde Mellow).

We were very successful at the German Show 2010:

Knockanty Fiona received the second place in the two year old filly class.

Lough Conn Rose was third in the yearling filly class.

Fernville Knocknore Mist was reserve champion in the mare class (7 to 9 years); Cappry Sally received the third place.

Our filly Birdmountain Pipilotta was not only winner of her class but received the title Champion foal - we are very proud.

These results mean a lot to us because the German Show was jugded by an international judge team (Sue Clarke, Australia; Deirdre Holmes (IRE) and Louis Marie Philibert (F)) and the quality of the shown ponies was very good.

july 2010:

Our friend and broodmare Van de Arenbosch Tessa (performance mare, Brimstone van Graaf Janshof x Van des Arenbosch Donna by Fort Tynion) died. We are sad and will miss her.

Birdmountain Peigi, filly by Springfield Fianaid out of Millbrae Pearl - a big foal with a lot of bone and a cheerful disposition

Birdmountain Kiss me Kate, filly by Ox View Paddy out of Fernville Knocknore Mist - a real beauty with a head to die for.

We are happy and thankful that all foals 2010 arrived without complications and are in a good state of health.

Birdmountain Calla Megan by Premium- and Perfomancestallion Oisin Schueracher out of Chiara vom Donaumoos is born - we welcome a big filly with very good gaits, a beautiful ponyhead and the wonderful dun colour.

Finally the first foals arrived:

Welcome Birdmountain Mitchell by Premium- and Perfomancestallion Ardas Murphy out of our good old Perfomancemare Maendy. Mitchell is a handsome, very typical colt with a super temperament, all children fell in love with him.

One night later Birdmountain Pipilotta by Hohnhorst Jordan out of Palika de l´Aubier was born - a "red" beauty with good confirmation and very good gaits.

We are very happy!

Welcome Cappry Sally by Tulira Barney out of Clonmany Sally by Murphy Rebell - a class 1 performance mare with old fashioned blood lines and a perfect temperament. She will be schoolmaster and friend for our children.

We are proud: Our stud was honored by the well-known LAG with the badge and beyond that with two stars for the species-appropriate keeping of our ponies.

Our old lady, Perfomance mare Maendy (by Juwel), is the only Performance book, C registred Connemarapony mare in Germany. With this registration she was honored because more than 3 of her offsprings were succesful shown, first to fifth place, in competions.

The new year started with a lot of snow. Birdmountain Maiden by Ravnsholt’s Diablo out of Perfomance mare Maendy (by Juwel) is enjoying the cold weather.

Winter arrived in the Birdmountain. Millbrae Pearl (Kingstown Boy x Silver June by Seafield Silver Rouge) and Fernville Knocknore Mist (I love you Melody x Ross Castle Moya by Abbeyleix Owen) enjoyed the first snow.

Ponies and children - a big love....The two girls are enjoying a winter-hack with evenminded Millbrae Pearl.

The Irish " girls" finally arrived at Germany arrived: We are pleased to welcome Fernville Knocknore Mist by I love you Melody out of Ross Castle Moya. This mare was bred in the well-known stud of John Canavan. Her pedigree unites French performance lines and one of the best Irish mare-lines. Fernville Knocknore Mist brings along as gift her beautiful daughter Lough Conn Rose by Coolilaun Cuslawn, winner of the three-year stallions, Clifden 2008. Despite the arduous journey Fernville Knocknore Mist is still in foal by Ox View Paddy, a young stallion by Lettermuckoo Lad, which at present makes a sportcareer in England. In addition we are pleased about the yearling filly Knockanty Fiona by Shadow´s Dun. Bred for performance - grandfather is the famous Silver Shadow, internationally high-carat showjumping pony - she should set accents as a garant for jumping ability.

Our ponies and their (young) riders did very well at the competition of the riding association Grünberg: They represented the Connemara Pony succesfully at the dressage for beginners, Caprilli class, GHP and lead rein class. We are proud of our riders - most of them competed the first time.

In the context of the central Hessian foal show got Birdmountain Penina by Clifden Silver (Coosheen Thyme x April Queen by Boden Park Finnard) out of Millbrae Pearl (Kingstown Boy x Silver June by Seafield Silver Rouge) and Birdmountain Pride by Clifden Silver out of Palika de l´Aubier (by Cocum Thunder Boy x Fair Lady de l´Aubier by Abbeyleix Apollo) not only good marks but premium awarded. We are extremly pleased because the filly classes were very well occupied and a lot of high quality fillies were shown. The judges praised expressly the good type and the outstanding movement quality of our girls.

Good news: Mhara (from Spinway Keepsake, a son of Spinway Corsair, out of Aillee Mulberry from Aillee Hasty Bits out of Aillee Pillturk from Pilgrim is in foal by the German Champion Marvellous Simon (Grange Surf Sparrow x Josy Lady by Smokey Duncan).
